Hayduke X Sometimes an artist needs to pour their entire soul out through a microphone, and sometimes I need to hear it. Right now is sometimes. Rituals is heartfelt post-rock/metal, moving in every way. Favorite track: Ariadne.
dancaffrey

dancaffrey Like all of Everson Poe's work, this album is heavy in more ways than one—musically, emotionally, politically. But there's a beauty that twinkles behind every last track, infusing all of the power with a hint of majesty. And the vocals are so chameleonic and dynamic; always shifting yet always confident. No one else is making metal music like this, full stop. Favorite track: Ariadne.

Weirding There is an entire world in here. Favorite track: Fallow, Hallowed.

sawtongue Just a stellar piece of somewhere in the love triangle between post-metal, sludge, and black metal. I listen to this album all the time on the way to work or stuck in traffic - and it alleviates my moment, and brings me to another in time and space. The space given to many chords and notes are notable, and I honestly can say I was shocked at how good this album is. Favorite track: Ariadne.

One eye is blind to all Obsidian reflection The symbol on the wall A passage through dimension Colder Paler than snow Evil Sits upon the throne An equal turned to stone Obsidian Reflection A brother lost, alone The twins of swift possession Colorless Wickedness Powerless To resist Consumed by shadow The source of all power Unsustained by flesh A vessel will be found Decay begets your stronghold You covet what you hate Consumed by shadow A lack of all color Drained by death We come to dust Your greed begets your downfall The brand upon his skin A talisman Ritual of remembrance Words neither written nor spoken Heard in the space between breaths A reflection Ritual of sacrifice Lovers neither living nor dead Born from the space within you A bloodletting Ritual of magic Power neither given nor taken Called to the space between worlds A binding spell Ritual of empathy Life neither lost nor returned Flows in the space between them The waters run red With magic and blood The stone betrays his conscience The stone controls his mind The stone will leave him hollow But she is of his kind And she will be his savior

An endless cycle An endless knot An endless labyrinth Which path will lead to rot? A broken chain A broken line O, time, we hold divine The prophecy The chosen few The cycle starts anew O, weary traveler So scarred with time You wage the battle This is your design A broken chain A broken line O, time, we hold divine The prophecy The chosen few The cycle starts anew You made us all believe Our destruction is the devil’s desire But you are the architect Of time’s end Forged by pain Desire your compass All your secrets No longer concealed Ariadne spins her web Blood imbued in every thread Only she can see the center Only she can stop the spread Sic mundus creatus est

Today is going to eat me alive All in my head And trying to remove the teeth from the beast I dreamt that I went deaf and blind Existence in a void No color No sound All my senses end in death The feeling of flesh Imprisoning my consciousness And the smell of rot Choking my breath And the taste of blood Drowning from the inside All my senses end in death The smell of sick Spills from my lips A limb removed The pain persists Let me go The yellowed skin The jaundiced tint Take off my mask See how it fits Let me go

Loud enough To shake the foundations of your faith Deep enough To leave a chasm in your wake Proud enough Forsaken by the wretched congregation Bleed enough To summon the powers of creation Each abuse of power Brings you one step Closer to ruin Virtue rooted in marshland You hold no water It washes you away The only way to Quell your ghost is To greet death as a friend This is our forest I never left Conjoined forever And still bereft This is our prison I cannot leave Condemned to serve you as I grieve (Branches bend into a cage Moonlit shadows on a stage Shackled to a broken man My blood on your hands) As I scream “you are not real” You whisper the same into my ear Every step we take together Poisons the soil upon which we trod Wallow in your shallow grave Deer tread upon the fallow ground Their antler velvet shed in blood Ancient symbols on the trees Take all that you can Give nothing but hate Hexagram of blood and moss Deer tread upon the hallowed ground Their teeth laid out in reverie A ritual to celebrate your passing Take all that you can Give nothing but hate The teeth The blood The moss The soil (This burnt offering Given to the earth Separated I Am the sacrifice) The only way to Quell your ghost is To greet death as a friend
